Leading up to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Naomi Osaka was faced a huge life decision. Play for Japan or play for the US? Her 22nd birthday was coming up, and by accordance to Japanese law, she had to choose which citizenship to keep. Nike and W+K Tokyo felt that it was a great chance to use this moment to question what makes someone Japanese?

Osaka ended up choosing her Japanese citizenship. We had everything ready for launch, But unfortunately the project was killed by the athlete herself.
