The internet is a space where information is churned out at an absurd rate. Instagram, Pinterest and other social media platforms help sustain the internets tendency towards appropriation culture. Ostinato Rigore is an on-going personal project named after Leonardo da Vinci's mantra, which means "constant rigor." The internet never sleeps, it is constantly creating new content for our insatiable appetite. I wanted to create a series of work that reflects on ideas such as, visual overload, appropriation, internet references/memes, and the process of consumption, digestion and regurgitation. Collage felt like the most appropriate medium for such exploration. Much like how our digital lives and physical lives are intertwined, these collages are created using a mix of digital and analog materials.
